Several years ago my husband and I went on a mission trip to Haiti with our church. It was the beginning of many trips and we fell in love with the country, the people and the Haitian leaders with which we partnered. Our trips even resulted in adopting a brother and sister from an orphanage our partners founded. They are a blessing to our lives. But, our dedication to the country does not stop there, we are so impressed with our Haitian partners, Hubert Morquette and Junie Hyacinthe, both doctors and pastors, that we are devoted to helping them raise funds to build and maintain a new building to house King's Hospital which they founded. We named our efforts, the Hearten Haiti Project, as hearten means to uplift, inspire, encourage.
The Hearten Haiti team members include others who have ventured to Haiti many times to come alongside our partners and serve their needs whether it be construction, teaching financial principles to community leaders, teaching the children of the orphanage, and obtaining sponsorship for those same children. We are inspired by and committed to the efforts of the Morquette’s.
